Upon completing the course, the student will have achieved the following learning outcomes:

Knowledge

The student:

  • Has knowledge of creating a showreel
  • Is knowledgeable about promoting their own portfolio or other related work
  • Has knowledge of the distribution of games and films
  • Has knowledge of seeking support for gaming and film projects
  • Has knowledge of starting a company
  • Has knowledge of contract writing
  • Has basic knowledge of laws and regulations within gaming and film
Skills

The student:

  • Can promote their own portfolio (demo reel/website)
  • Can write an application for support for a gaming project
  • Can understand copyright and what a standard contract should include
General competence

The student:

  • Has an overview of support systems, funds, and the market
  • Can plan and prepare for their professional career after completing the study
Teaching and working methods

The course is designed as a combination of lectures, practical exercises, self-study, and guidance. Throughout the course, students work individually on a task. Students are required to produce a demo reel and a written outlined strategy for marketing their own brand as a visual artist.

Required coursework
  • 2-4 individual assignments

Compulsory requirements that have been passed are valid for only 12 months. Students who wish to take exams after 12 months must pass the compulsory work requirements again in the next regular implementation of the course.
