In this course the students explore their chosen specialization on a film set. In this specialization students use professional tools for planning, budgeting and production of an audiovisual story.
During this course the student will create the desired tone and atmosphere in a film scene by participating in as part of a film team. During the course the students will get acquainted with working in a professional film studio with professional equipment.
The candidate:
- has knowledge of how to create a dramatic scene in an audiovisual story using directing techniques
- has knowledge of professional film equipment, tools and relevant work processes used in directing and producing a film and media production
- has knowledge of techniques used writing a short film script
- has insight into their role responsibilities in a film team during production of a drama scene in an audiovisual production
- is familiar with documentation used in various professional functions in a film and media production
- can assess assess their own work in relation to the applicable norms and requirements in their role in a film and media production
The candidate:
- can apply different work techniques and methods to create a desired expression in a drama scene in an audiovisual production
- can explain their own choices and use different work techniques and methods to cooperate with various professional functions in a film and media production
- can use professional film equipment independently to create an audiovisual expression alone or as part of a film team
- can use the equipment and tools in a professional film studio set to industry standards and requirements in a safe and environmentally conscious manner
- can explain his/her vocational choice in the development of a short film script for a desired expression
- can explain his/her vocational choices to account for necessary documentation in a film production in accordance with industry standards and requirements
The candidate:
- can use film equipment, tools and relevant work processes used for their professional role
- can plan and carry out tasks in an independent manner, for their professional role
- can plan a short drama scene by using the different techniques that are presented in the course for their chosen role
- can exchange points of view, methods and experiences with others in the film industry and participate in discussions about the development of good work ethics and practice
- can contribute to the project’s development from a professional point of view
Digital Learning Resources
The learning management system (LMS) is the primary learning platform where students access most of their course materials. The content is presented in various formats, such as text, images, models, videos or podcasts. Each course follows a progression plan, designed to lead students through weekly modules at their own pace. Exercises and assignments (individual or in groups) are embedded throughout the courses to support continuous practice and assessment of the learning outcomes.
Campus Resources
In addition to the digital learning resources, campus students participate in physical learning activities led by teachers as part of the overall delivery.
Guidance
Guidance and feedback from teachers support students' learning journeys, and may be provided synchronously or asynchronously, individually or in groups, via text, video or in-person feedback.
Three (3) mandatory work requirements must be submitted throughout the course, in addition to the final course submission. These requirements will be assessed as either Approved or Not Approved.
