Course content

The course gives a theoretical and practical introduction to event management. The students learn about events of different size and type, with the main focus on sporting events and cultural events. Event Management is theoretically anchored in many professional fields, such as law, accounting, marketing, and human resource just to name a few. The practical part of the course is to develop, plan, execute and evaluate a sporting event. The coursework helps students work on different sized projects tied to the various events.

  • is able to give significant theoretical and practical contributions in developing and executing events of different kinds.
Teaching and working methods

The theoretical part of the course consists of lectures, seminars, group activities and assignments on various topics related to event management. Lectures (including guest lectures) representing different types of events, including music festivals, cultural festivals and sporting events etc. The practical part of the course is to plan, execute and evaluate the sporting event Generation Games.

Required coursework

Students must take part in the planning, execution and evaluation of the practice event.

75% mandatory participation in lectures, seminars and event visits.
