      Passed the course Norwegian language and culture, Level 3-1. For students at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences with Norwegian as a second language, admission to other study programmes in Norwegian language is sufficient.

Course content
  • reading of challenging academic texts , both within and outside of own academic field
  • writing of texts on general and academic topics
  • training in listening to dialogical and monological language use
  • further developing of an academic and subject-specific vocabulary in Norwegian
  • training in using spoken language in seminars, academic discussions and presentations
  • teaching about Norwegian society, culture and history

  • 6-hour individual written examination (60 percent of the final grade)
  • 20-minute oral examination in pairs (40 percent of the final grade)

The exams are graded on a scale from A to F. A is the highest pass grade and E is the lowest pass grade. A final grade is awarded at the end of the completed course, based on the grades from the written and oral exams. Both exams must be passed in order to pass the course.
