A pass grade for the course "Norwegian language and culture, Level 2" or equivalent, or documented Norwegian knowledge at B1 level.
- reading of more demanding, authentic texts, including academic texts
- writing of texts on general topics in different genres
- training in listening to authentic, advanced use of language, e.g. radio and TV programmes
- developing a general and academic vocabulary in Norwegian
- training in using spoken language in conversations and discussions
- teaching about Norwegian society, culture and history
Learning Outcome
A candidate who has completed his or her qualification should have the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence:

- has broad knowledge about the structure of the Norwegian language
- has broad knowledge about Norwegian society and culture

- can understand spoken Norwegian well, and can participate actively and independently in discussions about current topics
- can speak Norwegian relatively fluently and with functional pronunciation
- can understand more advanced, authentic texts in Norwegian, including fiction and selected short academic texts

- 4-hour individual written examination (60 percent of the final grade)
- 20-minute oral examination in pairs (40 percent of the final grade)
The exams are graded on a scale from A to F. A is the highest pass grade and E is the lowest pass grade . A final grade is awarded at the end of the completed course, based on the grades from the written and oral exams. Both exams must be passed in order to pass the course
