Recommended prerequisites: LMSM130 Quantitative Method (kvantitativ metode), LDBA200 Applied programming (anvendt programmering) and MØLBA3001 Data Engineering (datahåndtering og analysedesign).

Learning Outcome
The student
- Have specialized knowledge about the factors used to measure performance of a business
- Have advanced knowledge about different tools and methods used in benchmarking and performance analysis
- Discuss the properties of different methods in relations to the data available
- Interpret and report the results from performance analysis
- Describe relevant actions that should be taken in a business to improve the performance
The student can
- Define and measure determinants and/or environmental variables to capture heterogeneity
- Conduct productivity and efficiency analysis using parametric or non-parametric methods
- Use indices in measuring businesses performance
- Perform different types of benchmarking analysis
- Interpret the results from business performance analysis
The student can
- Design and conduct a proper analysis to measure business performance relevant for the current situation
- Assess the results from the performance analysis to recommend suitable actions to improve performance
- Propose changes in businesses operations to improve performance
The following teaching methods are used:
- Lectures
- Problem solving
- Tutorial videos
- Case studies
- Mandatory homework assignments must be handed in before each teaching module (a total of 4). These will be combinations of practical and theoretical exercises covering key topics in the course.
- Three out of four homework assignments must be passed to be allowed to take the exam.
- Attendance on at least 50% of the courses lectured teaching.
- 48-hour take-home exam (counts 60% of the grade). The exam consists of practical assignments and a written report.
- 4-hour individual school exam under attendance (counts 40% of the grade).
