This course will dvelve deeper into the world of music production methodology, practical studio work and technology. The students will again work in groups with ambitious targets of creating and completing a series of music productions within the time frame. They will learn mixing techniques and familiarise themselves with synthesis and sampling.
This time they will not only work on their own songs from start to finish, but also gain experience in performing parts of the process (ie. Mixing, completion) on projects initiated by others, working on their behalf, understanding their vision.
In addition to dealing with the music and technology itself, the course also focus on performing work in a timely manner, to a deadline and answering to other people’s needs and expectations. These are important values in translating knowledge and skills to real-world professional applications.
The candidate:
- has further knowledge in studio and music technology
- has knowledge of music delivery formats
- has knowledge of synthesis and sampling and the concept of virtual instruments
- has introductory knowledge of available AI tools in the music production field, both musically generative and tools for processing.
The candidate:
- has practised skills in specialised Mixing
- has gained further skills in production methodology, tools and processes
The candidate:
- can apply knowledge to create compositions and develop them into music productions through collaboration in a production process
- can work on behalf of others in parts of the process (mix, completion)
In this course, the following teaching and learning methods can be applied, but are not limited to:
- Lecture: Educator-led presentations or activities providing knowledge, skills, or general competencies in the subject area.
- Group work: Collaborative activities where students work together to solve problems or complete tasks.
- Tutoring: One-on-one or small group sessions with an instructor for personalized guidance and support.
- Student presentations: Opportunities for students to demonstrate their understanding of course material by presenting to peers.
- Online lessons: Digital content delivered via an online learning platform.
- Guidance: Individualized advice and direction from instructors to support students in their learning journey.
- Workshops: Practical sessions focused on hands-on application of theoretical concepts or skills.
- Self-study: Independent study where students engage with course material on their own without any teacher support.
Teaching materials, reading lists, and essential resources will be shared in the learning platform and software user manuals where applicable.
