The students of both specialisations will work together in groups on an ambitous 6-week project, creating, producing and finalising songs. The students will have both theoretical and practical knowledge from previous courses about the workings of the studio and strategies for creating musical compositions to develop into finished work. In this course we emphasise a well-organised process, understanding roles and collaboration, adhering to deadlines. This is a group effort.
For composers, it is important to be able to speak the same language as technical producers and others involved in the production process, as well as being proficient in parts of the process other than songwriting. In this course, as well as participating in songwriting, the students are expected to practise and gain knowledge of recording techniques and practices, and synthesis in the production process.
