As a graphic designer, it is important to communicate with professional photographers, as well as gain an understanding of the photography industry. In the previous photography module, students learnt to use the camera and equipment on location. Now they will learn more about the techniques and equipment professionals use on set, as well as how to communicate efficiently with models. Styling, on-site analysis and planning are also important aspects of this process. Furthermore, this module gives students the opportunity to take their own photographs that can be used in their graphic design work. This gives students full ownership of their own design.

- has knowledge of how to use the correct photo equipment for different types of locations and tasks.

- has knowledge of image editing techniques and printing.
- has insight into his/her own development opportunities in on-location and model photography.

- can explain his/her choice of photographic equipment and techniques used for on-location and model photography.
- can explain his/her choice of techniques and tools when working with on-location photography.
- can explain his/her choice of creative methods when working with model photography.
- can explain the use of image editing techniques and print-preparation methods.
- can reflect on his/her own professional practice when working with on-location and model photography and can adjust this under supervision.
- can find and refer to subject matter about product photography and assess its relevance for a project.
The Candidate...
- can independently plan and carry out a medium-sized photo shoot on location.
- can plan and carry out model photography in accordance with ethical requirements and guidelines.
- can carry out on-location photography as specified by the client.
- can build professional relationships with photographers and graphic designers across creative fields, as well as with external parties, like models.
- can develop work methods and plan a photography project from idea to finished product.
In this course, the following teaching and learning methods can be applied, but are not limited to:

Teaching materials, reading lists, and essential resources will be shared in the learning platform and software user manuals where applicable.
