About the Course

​​The course provides knowledge of and methods for project management through research, planning and documentation in building projects. Quality assurance and evaluation according to internal standards and regulations are important parts of this course, in addition addition to skills for providing peers and clients with information of the project progression. The course also focuses on the importance of adding value throughout the various phases of a project. 

​The aim of the course is to provide candidates competence with project management and documentation of building projects. Timeline and budget management is essential to achieve quality, competitiveness, profitability and efficient collaboration. 

Course Learning Outcomes
Knowledge

The candidate:  

  • ​​has knowledge of concepts, processes and tools that are used in project management to control and execute building projects. 
  • ​has knowledge of processes and tools that are used for project execution and quality assurance with shared resources. 
  • ​can assess his/her own documentation of a project in relation to applicable internal standards and requirements. 
  • ​has knowledge of documentation utilised in project meetings for execution in relation to disciplinary and inter-disciplinary collaboration.​ 
Skills

​​The candidate:  

  • ​can assess and explain the information provided in his/her documentation, and provide feedback to improve project efficiency 
  • ​can reflect over his/her methods for adding value to the building process. 
  • ​can find and refer to information about internal standards, regulations, and assess its relevance to the building process. 
General Competence

The candidate:  

  • ​​can contribute to create documentation that suggests optimal points for project meetings for his/her team or working groups. 
  • ​can contribute to quality assurance for project management documentation. 
  • ​can contribute to discussions about project management and quality assurance in building projects.​ 
Learning Activities

Digital Learning Resources
The learning management system (LMS) is the primary learning platform where students access most of their course materials. The content is presented in various formats, such as text, images, models, videos or podcasts. Each course follows a progression plan, designed to lead students through weekly modules at their own pace. Exercises and assignments (individual or in groups) are embedded throughout the courses to support continuous practice and assessment of the learning outcomes.

Campus Resources
In addition to the digital learning resources, campus students participate in physical learning activities led by teachers as part of the overall delivery.

Guidance
Guidance and feedback from teachers support students' learning journeys, and may be provided synchronously or asynchronously, individually or in groups, via text, video or in-person feedback.
