About the Course

Candidates collects all submitted work and must display the best selected deliverables to showcase their skills to potential employers - such as a showreel (summary video) or through a simple website/blog. Candidates are given the opportunity to make small modifications on the selected deliverables for an optimized showcasing.

The aim of the course is to provide candidates with a summarized visual presentation of his/her competence. The candidates will be able to the skills obtained to self-promote efficiently in a job application process.

Learning outcomes - Knowledge

The candidate:

  • has knowledge of showreels, portfolios and methods to professionally present his/her own work aimed at a specific company or job listing.
  • can assess his/her own productions and its relevance toward different companies within building and construction industry.
  • is familiar with positive and negative aspects of visually presenting his/her own work.
Learning outcomes - Skills

The candidate: 

  • can explain his/her own presentation material and adjust presentations based on company focus and applicable positions.
  • can reflect over his/her own submitted assignments and optimise the presentation material.
  • can find and refer to professional companies within the industry for reflection and revision of his/her own presentation material.
General Competence

The candidate:

  • can plan and carry out presentations of his/her own work.
  • can exchange points of view and constructive criticism with peers and the academic staff to improve the portfolio presentation.
Teaching and Learning

In this course, the following teaching and learning methods can be applied, but are not limited to:

  • Lecture: Educator-led presentations or activities providing knowledge, skills, or general competencies in the subject area.
  • Group work: Collaborative activities where students work together to solve problems or complete tasks.

  • Student presentations: Opportunities for students to demonstrate their understanding of course material by presenting to peers.
