About the Course

The course provides knowledge of exercising entrepreneurship, project acquisition and job application processes in the industry. Candidates are prepared for a professional career where the start-up and operation of his/her own company is central. This includes administrative, economic, and practical tasks. This way, candidates are prepared to create his/her own remunerative workplace.

The aim of this course is to give the candidate good prerequisites for acquiring a job, further studies or starting and running his/her own business after graduation. Understanding his/her own industry and practice with financial and administrative operations of a company will provide real-life experiences, whether the graduate decides to start a business or apply for a job.
 

Course Learning Outcomes
Knowledge

The candidate: 

  • has knowledge of entrepreneurship, management, economics and marketing and basic processes for starting and running a company.
  • has knowledge of different presentation techniques and professional production of a CV for job applications.
  • can assess his/her own company operations in relation to applicable norms, requirements, budgets and accounting.
  • is familiar with the current job market trends, job search processes and work opportunities within the building and construction industry.
Skills

The candidate: 

  • has insight into his/her possible legal structures and management alternatives for practicing good entrepreneurship.
  • can reflect over the current market development costs and projected costs in relation to applicable norms and practices, and adjust it under supervision.
  • can find information about regulations and guidelines for responsible operations of his/her own company and refer to relevant information regarding potential issues and difficulties.
General Competence

The candidate: 

  • has insight into how to plan a client project in accordance to projected deadlines, budgets, expected quality and carry out basic accounting.
  • can exchange points of view with peers and industry professionals and participate in discussions about projects and the development of profitable entrepreneurship.
  • can contribute to the development of start-up companies and entrepreneurship.
Learning Activities

Digital Learning Resources
The learning management system (LMS) is the primary learning platform where students access most of their course materials. The content is presented in various formats, such as text, images, models, videos or podcasts. Each course follows a progression plan, designed to lead students through weekly modules at their own pace. Exercises and assignments (individual or in groups) are embedded throughout the courses to support continuous practice and assessment of the learning outcomes.

Campus Resources
In addition to the digital learning resources, campus students participate in physical learning activities led by teachers as part of the overall delivery.

Guidance
Guidance and feedback from teachers support students' learning journeys, and may be provided synchronously or asynchronously, individually or in groups, via text, video or in-person feedback.
