The course builds on the concepts introduced in JavaScript 1 and introduces modern techniques from ES6 such as array manipulation methods, ES6 modules and object and array de- structuring. The students will test their new skills on a practical project. The course builds on competence from JavaScript 1.
Course Relevance
This course is appropriate to the industry as it will cover modern JavaScript concepts required to develop in JavaScript Frameworks. Modern programming idioms facilitated by the latest ECMAScript versions will be introduced. The aim of the course is that the candidates are provided additional knowledge and skills in the programming language and can specialize in the opportunities of the framework. Competence will be of great significance for further implementation in course projects and especially for personal skill development with the JavaScript framework.
The Candidate:
- has knowledge of the programming language JavaScript used for developing interactive and dynamic web solutions
- has knowledge of data structure manipulation techniques such as array manipulation and object destucturing
- has knowledge of writing modular code using ES6 modules
- has knowledge of processes for testing and debugging
The Candidate:
- can explain his/her choice of techniques and tools for developing interactive and dynamic solutions with JavaScript
- can explain his/her choice of development processes for solutions using modern JavaScript concepts
- can reflect over his/her own practice for the development of interactive and dynamic solutions with JavaScript and adjust it under supervision or user feedback
- can find and refer to information and vocational material for development with JavaScript
The Candidate:
- can plan and carry out interactive and dynamic solutions, either alone or as part of a group can implement standalone applications in JavaScript given small assignments
- can exchange points of view with other with background in the trade/discipline in relation to the development of interactive and dynamic solutions
In this course, the following teaching and learning methods can be applied, but are not limited to:

- Group work: Collaborative activities where students work together to solve problems or complete tasks.

Teaching materials, reading lists, and essential resources will be shared in the learning platform and software user manuals where applicable.
