The course provides students with practical skills, tools, and graphic design and layout production techniques. This includes, amongst others, image editing, illustration, design, typography, the layout of different types of print material and the completion of the final product.

- has knowledge of composition, form and function, and visual communication.
- has knowledge of image editing, layout and page breaks.
- has knowledge of colour management, printing processes and making files print ready.
- has knowledge of file systems and the naming of files.
- has knowledge of creative methods and industry related software tools used within graphic design.
- can update own subject knowledge related to idea development, workflow, sketching techniques, typography, composition, and image editing.
The Candidate...
- can apply knowledge of the copyright law to the ownership of raw files, working files and the use of copyrighted material within students’ own projects.
- can apply knowledge of composition, layout, image editing and colour to create simple designs and prepare them for print.
- masters industry-related tools to deliver artwork that meets the technical standards and guidelines of the graphics industry.

- can communicate a message through visual tools and expressions aimed at different target audiences.
- can develop visual layouts in line with brand guidelines.
