The course provides knowledge of concepts, processes and tools that are used in the development of design styles consisting of typography, shapes, illustrations, visual hierarchy and colour systems. Candidates learn practical skills and techniques to shape and edit design elements. Candidates are also introduced to principles for brand guidelines and how to adapt and translate them for usage in UI design projects. The course provides insights into relevant standards for design, layout, behaviour, usage, states and “how-to” examples. The course builds on competence from Design Foundations.
Course Relevance
The course provides a deeper understanding of design elements and introduces design styles as an important basis for future work with design systems. The candidate learns professional terminology and essential techniques for developing, editing and adapting design elements. The candidate is also provided insight into standard requirements and principles for the development of design styles with the accessibility principles in mind.
