About the Course

The semester concludes with a graded project where the candidate must demonstrate practical skills and competence from courses in the first semester. Candidates’ work independently on a project, which must be planned, documented and executed according to project criteria. The aim is to develop and publish a fully functional website with HTML and CSS. The candidate also prepares a progress plan and a report that documents the process and what choices were made along the way. The project can open for teamwork, real client projects, or interdisciplinary cooperation projects across disciplines.

Course Relevance
The project challenges students to apply and combine accumulated competence and showcase how he/she can complete larger projects, either individually or in collaboration with others. Being able to develop static websites based on HTML and CSS is an important milestone and sets a crucial foundation for learning programming and developing dynamic web solutions with JavaScript.

  • has insight into relevant regulations and quality requirements for delivering and presenting his/her own productions

  • can apply vocational knowledge to practical problems in web development with emphasis on design process, aesthetics and the use of HTML and CSS
  • masters industry-relevant tools, techniques and expressions in design process and development of websites in accordance with regulations and guidelines for universal design
  • can study and document his/her own work processes and identify design related issues and what measures needs to be implemented

The Candidate:

  • can carry out work in web design and development of simple web solutions, either individually or as part of an interdisciplinary group
Learning Activities

Digital Learning Resources
The learning management system (LMS) is the primary learning platform where students access most of their course materials. The content is presented in various formats, such as text, images, models, videos or podcasts. Each course follows a progression plan, designed to lead students through weekly modules at their own pace. Exercises and assignments (individual or in groups) are embedded throughout the courses to support continuous practice and assessment of the learning outcomes.

Campus Resources
In addition to the digital learning resources, campus students participate in physical learning activities led by teachers as part of the overall delivery.

Guidance
Guidance and feedback from teachers support students' learning journeys, and may be provided synchronously or asynchronously, individually or in groups, via text, video or in-person feedback.

Work requirements and Assessment

All projects must be approved by the teacher before the work begins to ensure the learning outcomes and that the project scope is relevant. Examination project must be delivered after the assignment description criteria and be evaluated with at least the passing grade.
