About the Course

This course instructs candidates on utilising Front-end libraries, frameworks and tools to create robust, maintainable user interfaces. Candidates will also be taught how to utilise various tools and complementary technologies commonly used in conjunction with the JavaScript framework. 19 

 

Front-end JavaScript frameworks and libraries are widely used in modern Full-stack software projects in order to streamline the development of modular user interfaces. The candidate will learn how to use such frameworks and libraries to contribute to Front-end tasks themselves as a Full-stack developer and collaborate easily with Front-end developers as Back-end developers.

Learning outcomes - Knowledge

The candidate: 

  • has knowledge of widely used JavaScript Front-end frameworks, libraries and tools to build Full-stack applications 
  • has knowledge of component-based architecture used to create modular Front-end applications 
  • has knowledge of web sockets to deal with real-time communication in a Full-stack application 
  • is familiar with the history and traditions of Full-stack application development 
  • has insight into own opportunities to become a Full-stack software developer using JavaScript frameworks, libraries and tools

The candidate: 

  • can explain vocational choices in implementing a Full-stack solution using JavaScript frameworks, libraries and tools 
  • can explain vocational choices with modular components 
  • can explain vocational choices to implement real-time communication in a Full-stack application 
  • can reflect on own vocational practice developing a Full-stack application and adjust it under supervision 
General Competence

The candidate: 

  • can plan and carry out tasks building a full stack application using JavaScript frameworks, libraries and tools alone or as part of a group 
  • can exchange points of view with others with a background in the trade/discipline and participate in discussions about the development of good practice 
  • can exchange points of view with Front-end developers and participate in discussions about the development of good Full-stack developer practice 
Teaching and Learning

In this course, the following teaching and learning methods can be applied, but are not limited to:
