About the Course

The students in both specialisations will work together in groups on an ambitous 6-week project, creating, producing and finalising songs. The students will have both theoretical and practical knowledge from previous courses about the workings of the studio and strategies for creating musical compositions to develop into finished work. In this course we emphasize a well-organised process, understanding roles and collaboration, adhering to deadlines. This is a group effort.

For sound engineers, it is important to be able to speak the same language as composers and musicians, there will be some ear training and music theory in this course, and they are expected to practise their knowledge in music theory and synthesis in the production process.

Music mixing as a discipline is a very important skill for the sound engineer, and in this course they will practice those skills on their own music, and work for other groups mixing their music.
