About the Course

Establishes basic multi-room studio literacy through sessions with Sound Engineering students and selected first-year recordings, with Pro Tools used primarily for capture and handoff. Introduces the composing toolkit through ear training and core harmony, including intervals, the circle of fifths, four-note chords with inversions, and modal practice, applied in short analysis tasks. Then the emphasis is media composition: brief-driven, laptop-based writing with attention to musical intent, genre awareness, efficient DAW routines, and deliveries that meet specification for media projects.
