This course consolidates advanced studio practice with a focus on finishing workflows and professional readiness. Core topics include the stages of prep to final delivery, file exchange, versioning, archiving and backup; format customisation for different use-cases; and quality assurance against industry standards for music and media. Sessions address mastering techniques, loudness practices and deliverable formats in media post. Professional orientation covers career pathways, pricing and valuation, basic business routines (budgeting, invoicing, VAT), application writing, and ethical norms and soft skills in client-facing work. Portfolio preparation is supported throughout to present skills and outcomes clearly.
Learning culminates in an integrated music + media project. Teams plan and execute multi-room recording sessions, complete mixes and masters to specification, and deliver a coherent media soundtrack through music, dialogue, effects and sound design. Emphasis is placed on reliable scheduling, and communication of technical choices to non-technical collaborators. Across the course, students apply transferable production methods, iterate based on feedback, and align creative decisions with defined artistic goals and delivery requirements, producing results that are consistent, standards-compliant and presentation-ready
