Learning Outcome

Upon completion the course, the student:

Knowledge
  • can demonstrate understanding of everyday expressions and simple statements about themselves and close relationships.
  • can explain basic grammar and demonstrate adequate pronunciation.
  • can explain words and expressions related to tell about themselves and ask others about the same thing.
  • have some general knowledge of Norwegian words and expressions related to everyday situations.
Skills
  • can use simple everyday expressions and simple statements about themselves and close relationships.
  • can ask and answer simple questions, express agreement / disagreement.
  • can write simple texts.
  • can read simple texts such as short messages and instructions.
General competence
  • The ability to communicate in Norwegian in simple exchanges in everyday situations.
Teaching and working methods

Classroom lectures, group work, self study. The Language center in Lillehammer use an action-oriented approach as a pedagogical direction for language teaching. This means that they place great emphasis on communication, interaction and practical language use.

Exercises carried out in class; listening and reading exercises, oral and written training, group work, presentations and role-plays, based on authentic situations that you typically encounter when you use Norwegian in different contexts in everyday life.

Required coursework

70% attendance at lectures.
