Knowledge

The student

  • Have advanced knowledge about the terminology of privacy and data protection (k1)
  • Be able to identify the risk of collecting personal information and using such data (k2)
  • Have advanced understanding of the rules and principles for protecting privacy and personal information, particularly in EU (k3
  • Have specialized knowledge of the regulation on data protection from EU (GDPR; General Data Protection Regulation) (k4)
  • Have specialized knowledge of Norway`s obligation in the EEA-agreement (k5)
  • Have specialized knowledge of the rules concerning transfer of data to other 90 / 155 countries (k6)
  • Be able to discuss ethical problems arising from the use of personal information in both private and public sector (k7)
  • Be able to explain and exemplify legal and ethical paradoxes in usage of big data in business analyitcs (k8)

The student can

  • Be able to identify legal problems concerning privacy protection (f1)
