Learning Outcome

Upon successfully passing the course, students will have achieved the following learning outcomes:

Knowledge

The student will have

  • knowledge of circular agricultural production
  • knowledge of the interaction and practical application of agricultural machinery in precision agriculture to achieve optimal agronomic results
  • knowledge of positioning, map systems, control and regulation,
  • knowledge of sensors and remote detection for the registration of selected soil parameters and plant growth in the field
  • knowledge of the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in agricultural technology
Skills

The student will be able to

  • apply academic knowledge and relevant results from research and development to practical and theoretical issues and can make informed technological choices 
  • reflect on their own professional performance and adjust this under supervision
  • identify, assess and reference information and subject matter and present this in a way that highlights an issue
  • proficiently use relevant professional tools, techniques and forms of expression in agricultural technology
General competence

The student will be able to

  • communicate insights into relevant professional and ethical issues
  • plan and conduct varied tasks and projects spanning a long period of time, independently and as part of a group and in line with ethical requirements and guidelines
  • communicate key subject matter such as theories, problems and solutions in writing, verbally and using other relevant forms of expression 
  • exchange views and experiences with others with a background in the field and thereby contribute to the development of good practices
  • practice and implement new thinking and innovation processes for the use of AI in sustainable, circular agricultural production
Teaching and working methods

The course comprises a combination of lectures, problem-based learning, seminars, demonstrations, group work, student presentations, independent study and academic supervision.

Required coursework
  • two oral presentations in groups with a maximum of five students
  • participation in teaching and laboratory exercises in accordance with the course curriculum

When taking part in group assignments, all participants in the group will be jointly responsible for all content of the assignment/work.

Compulsory coursework requirements that have been passed are valid for 12 months only. Students wishing to take examinations after 12 months must pass the compulsory coursework requirements again in connection with the next scheduled delivery of the course. 

Form of assessment
  • one oral examination

The assignment is assessed using a grading scale from A-F, where E is the lowest passing grade.

The examination language will be either Norwegian Bokmål or Nynorsk.
