Learning Outcome
Upon completing the course, the student will have achieved the following learning outcomes:
The student:
- has broad knowledge of modeling hard surfaces in 3D
- has broad knowledge of sculpting and organic modeling in 3D
- has broad knowledge of texturing and shader techniques
- has broad knowledge of character rigging in 3D
- has broad knowledge of lighting and rendering a 3D scene
- has broad knowledge of how to produce finished 3D elements for games
- has broad knowledge of structuring and producing their own portfolio (demo reel)
The student:
- can master hard surface modeling, organic modeling, and advanced character rigging
- can understand what is required to create a solid demo reel for their portfolio, as well as what mistakes to avoid
- can develop character designs that are unique, memorable, appealing, and with individual personality
- can work on the development of character visualization at a high level
- can implement details in the model or technical intricacies in the rig for production readiness
- can define, develop, and finalize a video portfolio (demo reel)
The student:
- can master rigging technical problem-solving
- can produce 3D models at a high level
- can plan and carry out various tasks within 3D modeling and rigging
- has insight into relevant professional issues and can participate in professional discussions
- can communicate productions and portfolios in various ways
The course is structured as a combination of lectures, self-study, practical exercises, and supervision.
- 2-4 individual assignments
In this course, the required coursework is only valid for 12 months from the end of the semester it was last approved. Students who wish to do the exam after the 12 months have passed have to redo the coursework and get it approved again.
