Learning Outcome
Upon completing the course, the student will have achieved the following learning outcomes:
The student:
- has knowledge of project planning with various milestones and deadlines
- has knowledge of 2D animatic and 3D previsualization development
- has knowledge of visual language for gaming and film media
- has knowledge of film history and genre development related to cinematic production
- has knowledge of key theories in storytelling and narrative development for film language and game scene structure
- has knowledge of script development
- has knowledge of the development of visual storytelling techniques for storyboarding and CG scene setup
- has knowledge of animation for various 2D and 3D computer programs
- has knowledge of scene export from various computer program applications
- has knowledge of editing and development techniques for scenic scenes
- has knowledge of industry job requirements
The student:
- can create elements for the 2D and 3D production process (pipeline)
- can develop and use elements for scene development and visual story structure
- can create generic 2D/3D scenes with a focus on visual storytelling
- can establish a library of digital elements
- can develop storyboards following current formats
- can use 2D animatic & 3D previsualization in the development of a production
- can reflect on their own practice and adjust it under guidance
- can develop a story based on researched examples
- can write and interpret a script following standard script templates
The student:
- has insight into relevant issues in a planning process
- can plan and carry out minor project work proactively in line with guidelines for pre-visualization and animatic development for individual work and group work
- can reflect on their own work and use constructive feedback in a positive manner to adjust their own practice
The course is organized as a combination of lectures, practical exercises, self-study and supervision.
• 1 individual folder assignment which counts 50% of the final grade
• 1 group folder assignment which counts 50% of the final grade
Alphabetical grades are used, on a scale from A to F, with E as the lowest passing grade.
For group exams, all participants in the group are collectively responsible for all content in the assignment / product / presentation.
